It’s Friday night and I’m sick…
I mention that I’m sick for two reasons… (1) you can feel sorry for me…and (2) if I wasn’t sick we would be playing games and I wouldn’t be in my bed watching television.
Now, TV on Friday night isn’t all that great. Our choices are Hannah Montana (which I still don’t get), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (which I’ve seen so many times thatI can recite it word for word), The Ghost Whisperer, Grey’s Anatomy Rerun, Law & Order Reruns and 1 vs 100. I’ll admit that I like these prime time game shows from time to time, especially ones that involve trivia. Sometimes, I’m shocked at some of the things I know and don’t know.
Tonight, I choose to lay here and watch 1 vs 100 while Matthew played his DS in my bed to “keep me company” (I think he didn’t want to be stuck with Samara)…
If you don’t know about 1 vs 100, the short of it is there is one person (the 1) who takes on the mob (100). Basically, every qustion you try to eliminate someone in the mob by answering correctly and the mob doesn’t. If you answer all the questions right and the mob loses all its members then you win a million dollars. If you get one wrong, then the mob members that are left, split what you earned thus far…
Now, some of these questions are hard. Take Herman…he lost it all because he didn’t know the answer to “When you’re looking at a don’t walk sign, is the thumb on the left, the right or there is no thumb” — that’s tough…I’m not overly concerned that 12 people didn’t know that.
What I AM concernd at is that the next guy, Lou, came on and the question was “What political party does the jackass represent” 36 people got this wrong… THIRTY SIX…. I have issues with this…isn’t that something that we should know? I think that people just don’t care anymore. That’s sad to me. Just as sad at how many people I meet that don’t vote and don’t see the importance of voting.
If you don’t vote, don’t complain about the country. Don’t be part of the problem, be a part of the solution. We are given the priviledge in our country to chose who our leader is…why don’t some people use that? They think they are just one person and that they don’t matter, but they do. Take all of the “I’m just one persons” and you’ve got a mass that could sway the outcome.
I’m off on a tangent, but it’s something that I feel pretty strongly about. We do have a voice. We should all use it.
Until next time..
Heather
