I’ve struggled getting started this morning.
I look forward to this day all week because I CAN write about what I am thankful for.
I drifted off to sleep last night thinking about how I would start my post and what I would include today.
I’ve been procrastinating all morning.
It’s not because I have nothing to be thankful for, because I do… oh so many things…
- I am thankful for the new people that I’ve met through blogging. Some of you don’t realize what you do for me when I pay a visit to your place.
- I am thankful for what I have done for others this week, whether it be through my words or my actions. I’m even more thankful for those that told me that I had touched them. Not that I need that all the time, but to know that I’ve touched someone every once in awhile helps me to know that I might just be on the right track.
- I am thankful for the prayers — and I know that they are out there because I can sense that people are praying for me. The mind blowing thing? I haven’t asked and I don’t really KNOW some of you. How truly awesome is that? I’ll take all the prayers that I can get.
- I am thankful for the visit from my parents on Monday so that could watch my children interact with them. It makes my heart smile knowing that my parents and children are so close.
- I am thankful for the spring weather that has returned (even though it’s chilly and wet today)… but we’ve had the windows open and it’s GREEN outside.. I think I might have to mow this weekend, but you know what? I’m thankful for that too!
- I am thankful that I stepped out of my comfort zone and asked a gal from church if she wanted to do a “girls night out”…. it’s tough for me to make friends but we had SUCH a good time getting away from the kids for a little bit. The meal was great, conversation was better, and she said she wanted to do it again!
- I am thankful that my children are growing spiritually as well. There might be hope for us yet!
- I am thankful that I’m coming out of this funk (even though today is not a good indication of this).
- I am thankful for the quality time that I’ve had with my kids this past week with all the walking we’ve done! (And while I didn’t particularly enjoy arising at 6am yesterday, there was something awesome about the run that I had with my son. I’d do it again… )
- And, I’m thankful that I ended up with a somewhat decent post this morning. It only took me 2.5 hours to complete and lots of distractions, but I did it. Because I AM thankful.
Oh yeah, I’m thankful that I have a job that allows me to be flexible with my schedule so that when I can’t seem to get jump started in the morning, I can work a little later to make up for it…

I have a hard time making friends too, and have had attempts thrown back in my face at times. YUCK!
I know you bless me when I stop by here. I began my week in a funk as well…but God is faithful, and my internet buddies encouraged me greatly with their love and comments. It is so incredible we can feel so bonded to people we’ve never even met…because of His spirit! Love you, sweetie! Father, encourage my sister today, and bless her in unexpected ways! Amen.

I was LOL about it taking you 2.5 hours to write your post–I can so relate! I’m glad you wrote it because it made me feel good about all the prayer warriors out there! This is a strong community, isn’t it? I love it!

I understand the “under the funk” thing and when I saw the snow fallin’ I just about sunk under the funk…but I am THANKFUL for snow because it is moisture for the soil and will help prevent forest fires! Great list btw ☺
