Less talking… more music

in According to Samara,Mom Stuff,Quality Time

While taking our Saturday afternoon walk…

Samara: Oh, man! I forgot my MP3 player!

Me: Well, we could have quality family time and talk…

Samara: I really wanted to bring my MP3 player…

Me: I thought about bringing my iPod but then I though that I would rather just talk with you…

Samara: I thought about it too, and I decided that I would rather have my MP3 player…

Until next time…

My 50 year old mother and I walk together and she just recently bought a Nike sport armband for her iPod. Perhaps I’m not a thrilling enough conversationalist? We’ll see…

Well, at least she gets bonus points for honesty. :-)

I always have to stop and remind myself that those years are coming sooner than I’d like. At four The Big Guy has become a chatterbox, driving me up the wall so much that the entire house now has track marks! But I know that all too soon I will look back on his chatty-catty days and miss them when all he’ll want to do is lock himself up in his room with his music…so ironic.
