I’m speaking about the Queen of England…

Queen Elizabeth…

You know… All hail the Queen??

She’s coming to the states you know… and coming here to our lovely Commonwealth of Virginia… you see… it’s Jamestown’s 400th anniversary…. it’s very exciting to have the Queen arrive…

The 4th Graders of Green Valley Elementary School have been studying Virginia history all year… they performed a whole play on it… Matthew was Pete Seeger… and a fine job he did! (Even if he was so nervous he mumbled and I couldn’t understand a word he said… and I’ve been listening to it for WEEKS!)

The 4th graders of Green Valley Elementary School have been planning a trip to Jamestown and Williamsburg all year… so that they can see what they have been learning about all year… and what better year to go than the 400th anniversary?

Now Jamestown is celebrating it’s 400th anniversary all.year.long. But… guess when the QUEEN decides she’s going to come?

Yes. The exact same day that the 4th graders of Green Valley Elementary are (among the rest of the people who wish to get a glimpse of the Queen).

Jamestown called yesterday. We can still come but they are shutting down Jamestown. For the Queen. So she can see it.

We can still see it — but we’ll have to sit OUTSIDE Jamestown and watch the QUEEN tour Jamestown.

On monitors.

Um, yeah… no.

So now, we get to go to Yorktown instead. Which would be fine. But I don’t want to go to Yorktown.

And we STILL have to be to school at 4:30am…

Can someone say COFFEE??
