It was an 8 hour drive… and I must say… it’s been a LONG time since I rode shotgun on a long trip… and it was kinda nice…

actually the whole weekend was nice…

Shelly warned me of the accommodations before we left… I thought she was exaggerating….

she wasn’t…

this was my home for the weekend…

The house is over 100 years old… :)

This is where Shelly and I slept…

and here’s the kitchen… can we say OLD???

Let me also mention that we were in the middle of no where… no cell service, no internet, no nothing… :) I had to go “in town” to call my daughter to wish her a happy birthday…. but it was nice… I even took a nap on Saturday… and shucked peas… and looked for eggs…. :) I learned alot!

But… we had a lot of fun at the reunion on Sunday before heading home… they all treated me like I was part of the family….

That’s Grandma Thyra (I love this woman), Brandon, Kathleen, Shelly and me….

And did I mention that we ate well?

I gained about 20lbs…

We got home late last night… we hit construction quite a bit on the way home… but we made it and had so much fun… man, did we laugh!

But we’re back to civilization and I’ve got work to do…

Until next time…

I love it! Wish I could’ve gone :( I bet it was so much fun. The house looks like it’d be a good place for a mission trip ;) You know, if they needed anything fixed :) Glad you made it back and had a good weekend!

As I looked at the pics, I could hear a fiddle playing somewhere (in my head). Wow, talk about visiting a scene from the movies! I bet those folks (had to say ‘folks’) were some of the most authentic, down to earth people you could ever meet. Looks like a great experience.
