There’s something about weekends after labor day… they’re just different…
Even though the temps here are still in the high 80s/low 90s during the day in my mind… it’s fall.
It’s a non kid weekend for me… in my younger days that would mean that I got to go and do all kinds of single gal stuff… but now?
I’m older and more responsible…
And because I’ve been gone for what seems like the entire summer, I’ve got a lot of catch up to do around this house…
My to do list? It’s long…
But I’m putting off almost all of it…
Wanna know why?
I’m going to tell you anyway…
Yesterday my new office furniture was delivered.
So I get to rearrange, disassemble, move, clean and assemble 3 new desks and a book shelf…and I’m super stoked about this…
for one, I love to assemble stuff… I get in my “i don’t need a man” phase and yeah, it takes me a little longer, but it’s fun. I feel like I’ve accomplished something by the time I’m done…
But I’m very excited about redoing the office…
The office was the latest room to be remodeled in the house and I love it… and at the time, I hated putting all the junky furniture back in it, but there was no money at the time to get new stuff…. and I’ve finally gotten to the point where I can get it… so I did… 
I’ve never, in 30 years of my life, had matching or new furniture… I’ve had new to me stuff, but my house is filled with hand-me-downs and mismatched stuff… so I’m pretty excited about this…
The kids each will have their own computer desk (they each have a computer) and I’ll have a new… bigger desk…. i’m very excited about this… have I mentioned that?
So… tonight, I’m headed to dinner and a movie with a friend… and then tomorrow I’ll be rearranging our middle room to accommodate my new scrapbooking area and then doing the office… and hopefully, I’ll get it all done before the kids get home…
I’ll take pictures of the transformation… but at least for a few days next week, I’ll have a pristine office… before it gets “lived in” again….

YAY for new office stuff!
New office furniture, that’s exciting!
I know what you mean about brand new stuff. For years I had new-to-mean furniture and when, in my 30′s as a single gal, I bought my first brand new bedroom set (it was on sale for $1,000 for 3 matching pieces) I was so stoked! I spent a lot of time in my bedroom admiring my set.
8 years later and I still have the set in my bedroom. 
My plans for the weekend you ask? Well, I had plans for our family to have dinner with another family of friends but I just got a cancelation call due to illness. Now I’m not sure what we’re doing tonight. Maybe dinner and a kids movie for our little guy?
Tomorrow I’m going to my first beading convention. I can’t wait! Hubby’s going too to keep me in check with my spending.
Sunday we’re going apple picking with family and friends.
Whew…I’m tired just thinking about it all, and I still have a messy house to clean!
tomorrow is me and hubby’s anniversary and we have plans to do something either tomorrow night or sunday.
My plans? Potty Training. Wanna trade places?
