WOW… Excellence in Discipleship? Me?

Mathetes is the Greek word for disciple, and the role of the disciple (per the Great Commission) it to make more disciples.

Yesterday, I received this from Christina at Refuge for a Single Mom. It means alot for two reasons.

First and foremost, because Christ can be seen in me to someone. And as the Great Commission states I am to “go and make disciples of all nations.” For me, I try to do that on this blog in a non-intrusive way because seriously? Who wants it shoved in their faces? My words, my thoughts, my faith and shared more so for me… so that I can get them out there. In the process, I’ve found, that they’ve been helpful, encouraging to others.

And I love what Christina wrote about me…

Heather is a riot, but don’t let her sense of humor fool you – she is serious when it comes to following God.

But secondly, of all the awards that I’ve gotten, (and they are special, trust me… to be seen as an Blog Friend Forever, or a Rockin’ Girl Blogger, or nice are important) this one is one that I needed today. Our revival is this week. And of course, I’ve mentioned before about how I struggle with being the “perfect Christian” and all these messages are being tied together. AHA moments are happening and again defining who I am, what I believe, and how I take this into the rest of the world. Evangelism is NOT my thing. But transparency is… and it is my hope that through my transparency I can let others know that there is Hope. There is Hope through Him.

So here’s the rules… because there’s always rules… and I try my best to follow them….

(4) Dale at What Ever You Want Honey — He’s Becki’s hubby and just as important as she is… in spreading the Word
(5) Deana at Wholly Devoted — This woman is amazing! I don’t know her personally, only through her blogs, but I relate to her in so many ways. And she encourages me on a daily basis.

There’s my five although I could list a gazillion more…
