I love my cooktop with double ovens below. Not sure what brand it is (I'm not at home). It's great, because I can have two ovens going at two different temps (great at Thanksgiving!) or bake three sheets of cookies at once. the top oven is smaller than the bottom, but that saves energy, too. The only thing you don't have with this set-up is a drawer in the bottom of your stove, which is pretty minor to me. Happy Shopping!

Don't do what I did and fall for one of those Ceran Cooktops! I hate it, big time! You have to have absolutely flat pans, no ridges, no slightly bent, or they will not heat up. Unless you keep the top spotless after every meal it will eventually stain black and will forever stay that way, no amount of scrubbing with special scratchless cleaner will get it off. You also have to watch the weight of any pot, no canning/preserving for me using this stove! I bought a small gas stove to put in my canning room for my pressure cookers because the Ceran will break with heavy pots. And don't let anyone get near it with a metal object, the scratches from my Hubby cutting a sandwich right across the burner remind me why I don't allow him in my kitchen!

<em>Kansas A's last blog post..<a href='http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/kansasa/~3/250399433/not-so-good-return.html' rel="nofollow">Not so good return</a></em>

I've never seen a stove quite like that - my guess is, it was "state of the art" back in the day!

I don't have any great advice either - my stove is old (not that old, but old still) and it works OK. I've heard that glass cooktops are nice, but I agree with your mom: the more bells and whistles, the more stuff to get broken.

My stove is gold and from the same era, but it doesn't have the sweet 007 secret burners. You can tell it was luxurious in it's day!

btw, you won...

Wow that's an antique if I ever saw one. I wonder if you contacted the Frigdidaire people, if they might be impressed with what you have and take it off your hands. I'm going to assume the stove came with the house?

Gosh - I've never seen a cooker with pull out rings before. That's truly bizarre.

Anyway - my cooker does exactly what it says on the tin and I've never felt the need for bells or whistles.
