Well at least for me anyway…
Since I gave up TV for Lent, I stopped watching Idol right after the auditions. I kept up with what was going on, religiously, through Jo-Lynn’s blog. Truthfully, I didn’t watch any of the performances on TV. Ok, let me confess. Last week I heard so much about two performances, that I looked them up on YouTube. But other than that, really, I’ve not watched.
I even deleted all the shows on the DVR because really? What’s the point? I already know who’s going home and there are already 6 weeks worth of Medium, Men in Trees, Eli Stone, and other assorted shows that I wanted to watch. There’s no way that I could catch on up on that Idol.
So, tonight, I watched.
Yawn.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve not come to know these singers through the weeks or maybe it’s because I’m not really in the mood. But how boring? There was only one song that really stood out for me and that was the “We are the Champions”.
The other reason that I think this was so boring is because for the most part, they were all slow songs. It didn’t get me moving and shaking. Don’t get me wrong, I like ballads but none of the ones that they sang tonight. I really wanted to just turn it off, but I didn’t. I determined tonight that I would find a favorite and stick with them until the very end.
And I’ve picked who I am rooting for…
David Cook
Yes, I realize I only saw one performance… well, I saw him on YouTube last week. So, two. I couldn’t believe it! Original. Awesome. Go David. I’m so glad that I didn’t turn it off when I wanted.
I like original. I like bold. It’s why I liked Blake so much last season.
That’s all I have to say about that.
Until next time…
Heather
PS. What in the WORLD is up with the things on Paula’s hands?
