My mom (and her dog) need your help!

in Pics, Thoughts..., Yo!

My parents got a new dog.

I heard that they were going to get a “real” dog (and by real, I mean big) but Dad said they chickened out.

They got a beagle mix. She’s cute.

She came from a not so great home, and my parents and the traveling zoo (what we call them when they travel with two children, two cats, my grandma, and a dog) will take good care of her, I know they will.

But she needs a name.

She came with the name Snoopy. And that’s fine, but it doesn’t work.

For one, how many beagles are named Snoopy?

Secondly, she doesn’t look like a Snoopy.

AND? She’s a girl! Snoopy is a boy’s name.

So we came up with Gracie, Chloe or Pheobe as potential names.

What do you think? Which of those fit her?

OR… do you have a better suggestion?

My mother and I thank you much….

Until next time…

She looks like a Hannah to me. :) It’s the first name that popped into my head when I saw her. Which is remarkable considering both my boys were “Baby Boy” for their first 48 hours because I couldn’t decide what to name them.

She could be a Gracie too though, if I had to decide out of those 3 names. She’s so cute. :)

I like Gracie…my dad named his beagles Scooter (female) and Bumper (male)…then when he got another 2, they were Kate and Allie (both females)

She’s beautiful! If I were to name her she would probably be named Sassy. She just has that sassy look! Best of luck with naming her. Please do let us know what y’all decide!!!

I think Phoebe is cute. Wish I could come up with an awesome name but my mind has gone completely blank.

Snoopy has a sister. Her name is Belle. The new dog could always be called Belle, in honor of her Snoopy roots. I think it’s a cute name.

I think “Mildred” when I look at her. I have no idea why…

Cute dog!!! I like Chloe the best of your choices, with Gracie a close second. She reminds me of a dog I knew as a child that was named Maggie…

My first thought looking at her, though, was Sophie.

Ang April 24, 2008 at 8:10 am

My first thought was Maggie. Must be the red coloring that makes me think that, but of the three suggested, I’d vote Chloe.

That’s funny that someone else would think of Maggie. She just looks like one…maybe it IS the red coloring?? The Maggie I knew as a child was the sweetest little dog, with red coloring. Seriously. The SWEETEST dog. You’ll have to let us know what you pick!

I kinda like dog names that are dog names and not people names… My dogs are Trixie, Sassy and Hunny Bear. I suppose ‘Trixie’ could be a human name, and ‘Sassy’ could be a nickname, but ‘Hunny Bear’ is definitely a name for an animal, not a people.

I do like ‘Gracie’ because it’s one of those names that could be used either way. ‘Chloe’ and ‘Pheobe’ both sound too people-ish.

Now you’re gonna ask what’d I suggest instead… um, I dunno?

… I’m ever so good for suggestions :P

My seven year old daughter suggested Daisy or Abby.
