One of the things that I loved about being gone the last two weeks was actually going to bed early. I guess I was tired. I had to get up at 6:30 to get showered and dressed and put on those heels that I love so dearly but hurt my feet so, only to spend 8 hours at the office, standing in said heels, or rushing around trying to get things done, only to come home, and take the kids to the pool, or to pick blackberries, or something like that.
No wonder I was so tired.
I was WORKING.
Not that I don’t work here, but it’s so much more relaxed and not as much rushing around.
So many nights, I would go to bed long before the kiddos, at gasp… before 11.
And I’m a night owl, especially during the summer when I don’t have to get the kids up and off to school…it’s not uncommon for me to work well into the wee hours of the morning and arise a little later in the morning.
I started to enjoy it, you know, going to bed at a decent hour… not the heels part.
So, I decided that when I got home, I would keep working like that. I would go to bed early… by 11.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
It’s 3:23am (although, my body clock is still on central time, so it’s really 2:32am…as if that matters) and I’ve been working away.
I had a lot to do for the FCC (the Federal Communication Commission – i think – but basically the governing body of broadcasters in the US) and things to dump from my head and blogs to install for all those who were patiently awaiting my return. And writing…
Not only did I need to write this post, but I’ve got the next chapter over at Chapter Bytes…. and you can go, but it’s not done yet. I’m a little wordy in my chapter, and I need to cut some back. But read the story thus far… it’s good. I’m just hoping mine will contribute to the story… there are some REALLY good writers out there!
But for now, I am going to bed. Because I have lots to do tomorrow and a conference call at 10am… and I have to make sure that I’m up with at least one cup of coffee in me.
I’m so glad to be home.
More stories from our trip over the next few days…and the countdown to BlogHer is ON!
Until next time…

I’m a night owl too – and I’d try to find a job that matched my night owl-ness better than my current 8 – to – whenever, but then I went and got married, and had a kid, and that just put a whole kink in that plan.
