…about today being my birthday.
I would like to stop the rumor in it’s tracks right now.
I am NOT 32 today. I’m still 31…
and I’ll stay that age for the rest of my life…
However, since no one wants to play along with me and insist that I am, indeed, 32 today and want to celebrate, I am giving in and going to dinner with my friend, Shelly, and the boy. They are in cahoots, I tell you. My stipulation for dinner was that I do not get sung to or pie in my face because it is my birthday. (And I thank you Heather and Kathy for not telling the people at TGIFridays that it was my birthday…oh, and I’ll blog about our lunch soon…i’m stealing Heather’s picture.)
Because I agreed to dinner they are making me pick the place and my favorite place in the world is Rancho Viejo where I plan on consuming my ususal of Enchiladas Supreme (no bean, extra cheese) and a margarita (Pastor Man, you are not reading that right. It most certainly does not say margarita, it says diet coke.) However, Rancho is the place where most take their friends who are celebrating a birthday to get creamed.
See?
That was in 2006… my 29th. Apparently with age you also get fatter because I was MUCH thinner back in the day…
But since I’m not celebrating a birthday, rather having dinner with the boy and my friend on a normal, every day, run of the mill, Friday night, I am not expecting this to happen to me…again. And I refuse to pick an alternate place to dine on my NON birthday because you can’t find better margaritas diet cokes in town.
I am trusting the boy and the friend. I think that’s going to be my second mistake, my first agreeing to go out to eat instead of hanging out at the house. Separately, I think they are fine, but they are now working together against me, trying to get me to WANT to go and celebrate, so I’m not so sure anymore.
And I know, I know, now that I’ve talked about it being not my 32nd birthday, instinct will want make you want to leave a comment saying Happy Birthday, and that’s fine, but since no one wants to play my “I refuse to turn 32″ game today, I’ll give in.
Yes, I will give in and say that I am 32 IF you leave me a comment and tell me something unique about you. Delurk. Tell me you’re here. Tell me about you.
But in my mind, I really do want to stay 31.
Forever.
Until next time…

Happy Birthday darling Heather!!
I’m so thrilled for YOU!! Thank you for your sweet comment… Enjoy. You deserve it!
Happy birthday, girlfriend! I’m glad we were able to celebrate your non-birthday yesterday. I look forward to hearing about what happens tonight!
Well a very merry UNbirthday to you!
Have a great time!
Happy Un Birthday!
I have to mention something kinda funny..to me anyway.
When you first started mentioning your “UN” birthday earlier this year and mentioning that you were turning “31″. I was thinking “wait a minute I thought Heather was barely a year older than I. ” I had to really think about it, because for some crazy reason I thought I was already 32. I actually had to recalculate how old I was and realized I don’t turn 32 until this October. LOL!
Happy “31st” Birthday
It’s really not that bad … getting older. Though we won’t talk about how old I’ll be this year!
That place looks so very familiar
I enjoyed eating there with you on our visit. I hope you have a great time and enjoy your birthday!
Happy Birthday!! I am de-lurking to tell you that 32 is not too bad. I turned 32 in August and the only difference is that my kids now think I am old!!! I don’t know why they chose 32 as the magic number. lol
I do not have my own blog but I really enjoy reading yours.

Hey there…I’m a bit behind on my reading! Happy Birthday! Unique about me? Well, I can recite the alphabet backwards in 5 seconds naming every letter in order (backwards of course).
Happy un-birthday….I have been your happy lurking-stalker/blog addict for awhile(so long I can’t recall when!)
Something unique about me; I am a Sherlock Holmes addict. So much so that finding new authors has become a challenge.
Now free yourself and let your beautiful 32 years show.
Happy Birthday, GF…. hope they get you in the face tonight… and something unique about me… I’m staying 21 for the rest of my life… so you can stay 31 if you want… not a problem for me!!!!
Have a great day and night!!
To be 32 again… besides the extra weight you can also plan on more gray hairs (which you can blame on the kids) and more wrinkles as you age which will give you the right to say you are wise. So it’s all good. You are good stuff.
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! You and my wife are exactly the same age. But you have it wrong. According to her it’s 26.
Cool, now I know when to put you on the calendar. You may only SOMEday get that auntivitation, but I can almost guarantee you will be on the fam calendar next January.
About me… I always liked silver hair and think it will be cool when mine finally finishes turning. Hows that?
Have fun tonight!
I wish I had stayed 31 every year. I didn’t and now that I’m um…dont tell anyone…47, I hate hate hate that I didnt stay in my thirties!
You looked like you had an awesome time!
Lovish!

Happy Birthday! I turned 30 this year
I SO don’t feel like I’m 30. So I just tell people I’m 21 with 9 years experience.
Happy Birthday chica! Looks like you had a great time.
Happy Birthday!
My husband turns 27 (today the 10th), and the unique thing about me is: I’m the oldest of 12.
Happy birthday, girlfriend! hope it has been a great one. I remember way back when, when I turned 32….I didn’t do anything special that I recall. So maybe I don’t really remember, anywho….hope you had a great day and enjoyed your diet coke!
You’re right that is a NASTY rumor. And since I NEVER listen to gossip, I can’t wish you happy anything. I will say this: you write very young (like that?) and no birthdays, wrinkles, gray hair or sagging will ever change that. LOL
Happy Birthday! I can’t believe I’m older than you… in my head you’re older than me. So this birthday is good, it helps me confirm my head talk. Reality? Truly overrated.
I can beat Annabelle by about one second. And so can my daughter, who I taught to sing the alphabet backwards at 3. Great parlor trick. Of course, now that she’s 10, she can’t be coerced into doing it anymore. Happy birthday!
Happy belated birthday. Hope it was fab!
Happy birthday. The pictures are priceless.
Nell
LOVE the pictures and happy birthday.
From one single mama to another – you rock (even though you’ll be leaving us soon). Congratulations!!!
