I mentioned, albeit briefly, our youth trip to Greensboro for Battlecry. I never did get to update you fully on the trip short of it rained, I got no sleep, and God moved. But hey, if God’s moving, I’ll take the rain and no sleep. It’s a small sacrifice, ya know?
But one of the biggest things for me was that I truly got to be a kid. Yes, I know I’m rather goofy and crazy and yes, I do love to be a kid with the teens, but rarely do I do off the wall stuff… you know, like jump in a pile of leaves or make weird faces, or anything along those lines. I’m always a little stuck up and, well, I just don’t. I don’t know why.
There was a time that I did that kind of stuff… long before I started attending church and working with the teens. It’s not church that changed me, rather life occurances. Somewhere along the lines, I started to grow up. There’s a small piece of kid in there, but rarely does the whole thing come out.
For whatever reason, maybe it was the lack of sleep, the inner child completely came out on the way home.
Unfortunately, there were also cameras present which means these pictures are plastered all over myspace and facebook pages. I figured I’d put them here too and pray that these pictures won’t ever prevent me from a decent career opportunity in anything other than youth ministry.

Cute, no?

But here are where they get good…

Yes… my sweatshirt does say dork… and yes, those are fries hanging out of my mouth.. which is really what started all of this…
but you know me… i have to do things all the way….
and then when I get really good at something, I like to ahre my knowledge and expertise…

like Pastor Man. He’s a natural….
But then we settled down some and we were able to snap a few pictures of the charter cereal sisters…

Cheerios and Froot Loops are an inside joke between the girls and I, and T and I deemed ourselves the Cereal Sisters… my latest brain child? ALL of the girls are going to get a cereal shirt and we are going to be the Cereal Sisters… all of us. I’m so excited!
Despite all the fun that we had, there was bonding too… not only between the girls and I, but between God and I…
and my son and I….
My son actually told me that he thought it was cool to have a youth leader for a mom…
So all in all? Battlecry 2009 was a HUGE success…
Our next big trip? Love Mercy in Charlotte in December…
I’m excited!
Oh and no, I didn’t purposely wait until AFTER I got a job to post these… I just not got them off my camera!
Until next time…

ROFLOL OMG! Hilarious. Love that Pastor Man even had a fry up his nose – now that’s priceless. Girl you crack me up. I wish we lived closer…I so wanna hang out with you in person!
Hi Heather, great post and hilarious pictures. Hey by the way, at work they recently put a bunch of high tech software that allows my computer to detect when I surf to a “dangerous” website that has a virus? Well every time I surf to your site, it makes this alarm go off and I get a notification that your site contains a dangerous virus that apparently downloads itself to my computer. The virus protection I have eliminates it, but your site is the only one that it does it to. Maybe this is something you should check out? Of course I’m at home now and so if you do have one it is in my computer LOL Just thought you should know.
Hilarious pictures! Too funny.
