The prom is 11 days away.
ELEVEN.
ELEVEN.
I have ELEVEN days to find a dress to wear to the prom. Now, I had to look for a prom dress when I was 17 and I’m pretty sure that this won’t be as bad as it was then.
For one, I’m much smaller now than I was then. I looked at the woman when I was 17 and asked, “Don’t fat people go to prom?” because there weren’t any stylish dresses in my size. I was quite a bit larger then.
Of course, at that time, I was also spending my mother’s money, something I am not doing this time around, some 15 years later.
And do you want to know why I am waiting until 11 days before the prom to find a dress? Because I’m a freaking idiot, that’s why. And I shall tell you of the tale, but I have to decide if I want to be the butt of the joke for a very, very, very long time. I haven’t decided yet.
So, I thought that I had a dress that I could wear, and I can. It’s super pretty and I love it. I’ve had it for 10 years, however, after thinking about it, the last formal event that I went to with my ex-husband? I wore that dress. n I don’t want him to think it’s the only formal dress I own. (Which it is. And he won’t remember.)
The worst part? The last formal event that we went to was at the same venue.
My how times change.
So I’m off to look for a prom dress. That’s between free and $5. Or wear what I have and if he does happen to remember (and no you can’t tell him, Jennifer) just play it off like he’s crazy.

Oops! Is there a Good Will near by? Maybe they’d have something there?? My niece found a dress at one there…once. You have more formals than I have…I don’t have any. The last formal (besides my wedding) that I attended was my HS prom! Even if I did have the dress (which I don’t, my mom gave it to a drama team), I’m pretty sure the style of that dress would scream 90′s!
