Evangalism and Heather Jacobson

in Faith, No Way..., Thoughts...

They are not two words that I would’ve ever put together.

Ever.

Me?

An evangalist?  Never mind that the Bible tells us that we are ALL missionaries and supposed to be evangalists.

But Sunday night, I finished my Evangalism Explosion class.

I have completed my classroom instruction and my on-the-job training… which, I have to tell you… knocking on doors?  Not my cup of tea.

But I did it.

Meaning?

I just became a sales person.

I’m selling Jesus.  Which, really, He can sell Himself… If you sit back and witness everything that He accomplishes… or believe that it’s Him…

Yes, I’m now telling people about the greatest story ever told, about the greatest man who ever lived, about the greatest gift that has ever been given… and through me, God is asking the greatest question that someone will answer… “Do you want to receive the gift of eternal life?”

God has used me to lead two people to Him.  One, the lady at the Rescue Mission and the other?  A teen who has been visiting our youth group.

I still am more comfortable with leading people to church and someone else talking with them.  Obviously.  But I can.

I can do this.  Because God has called me to do it.

And you want to know what’s next?

They’ve asked me to be a trainer.  So I get to go into another 13 week session to learn to train other soul winners.

I’m still unsure of how to feel about this, however, I’ve been called and everytime I try to say no, I get this feeling that I’m doing the wrong thing.  So I’ve just given into Him.

But here again…

Another situation where I never thought I would find myself.

But He knew.  He knew a long time ago.  And at that time?  He knew that I couldn’t see myself here in this situation, so He didn’t reveal that to me.  It’s one of those times that I’m glad He keeps things and His plans to Himself.

So first teens… then sharing the good news… then training soul winners…

What’s next for Heather Jacobson?

I don’t know…

Only He does…

I’ll wait patiently to find out.

Until next time…

I’ve been talking about you so much this past week :) I *LOVE* that you are going to be a trainer. My preacher has asked me to work up our story to share with the church :) That’s going to be a stretch for me — along with committing to Women of Faith yesterday that I would sell 50 tickets for next year’s event in Greensboro. God’s got such a good sense of humor! I’m going to blog more about this tomorrow but just wanted to stop in and catch up with you :) Good stuff!!
