Thursday, as I was sitting at a stoplight, I looked across and saw this…

Now I realize the picture isn’t that clear. After all, I was sitting in my car, at a stoplight and the picture was taken from my phone, which was dropped in mineral spirits last week, the windshield is dirty, and it was raining, but it states… “Holiday special. Two spaces for only $995.”
I get the whole financing thing.
What I don’t get?
The whole holiday special part. Why would one think that the holidays would be a good time to purchase burial plots? Am I missing something here? Even if I were a person who had everything, I don’t think this is something I would like to give or get during the holidays, which in my mind, celebrates life… the life of Jesus. Because that’s what we’re celebrating, right?
And I will be the first to tell you that come November 1st, I will say, “hey, I need xyz but I know that it’s the holidays so I’ll just wait for it to go on sale somewhere.” Who would stop and say, “you know what? I need a burial plot. I wonder if anyone will have them on sale around the holidays?”
I really think it goes beyond the sale part. I’m okay with putting them on sale. I’m okay with using the marketing ploy of a sale on two spaces. It’s a great thing for spouses and for children. I think my main hangup comes from tying in “holiday” with the word “special”
I dunno.
What do you think?
It just struck me as odd when I saw it.
Until next time…

I think it’s pretty creepy myself!! Who would buy their spouse/child/parent/significant other a burial plot for Christmas?? Pretty sick for them to advertise as such, too!!
