I had every intention of writing this yesterday when I was sitting in the quiet and able to truly reflect on what I’m thankful for. However, I had to bake.
And then kids came home from school.
And then I had to bake some more.
And well, I never quite got around to sitting down and reflecting on it.
So today, I’m blogging (so as to blog every day this month and how thankful am I that I’m 26 days into this and I’m still doing it!) and I’m doing so on the commercial breaks of the Macy’s Day Parade (of which my grandma is older than!)
First and foremost, I’m thankful for my salvation. I am thankful for the God that provided all of this “stuff” that I am thankful for. I have to stay conscious of the fact that while I’m thankful for the people and things in my life, without God I wouldn’t have any of it. And with out his greatest gift, Jesus, I wouldn’t be assured where I will spend eternity.
I am so grateful for His grace and love for little ol’ me.
Moving on, let me tell you what else I’m thankful for (in no particular order, because I don’t want to offend anyone.)
- for my family and friends — without them, I couldn’t make it in this world
- for the memories I have from my childhood with my parents, traditions that were started that I wish to carry on with my kids
- our health — while it’s not been great the past few months, we could be so much worse
- God’s blessings — yes, it’s been a crappy year, but I have to tell you… if I sit back and look back, nestled amongst the crap have been so many blessings
- the opportunities that await me in the near future — it’s time for Heather to SHINE!
- for those that take chances on me and for those who believe in me when I can’t seem to believe in myself
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and please… take some time to remember what you’re thankful for!
Until next time…
