Santa Threw Up In Here and Left Me To Clean The Mess…

in Care to Share?, Christmas Memories, the boy

::sigh::

I’ve been wanting to blog about various aspects of our Christmas since Thursday and just haven’t had the chance… so not only did Santa throw up here, I’m going to throw up some words…

Christmas was…

well?

Wonderful.

Santa made one stop this year… at the boy’s… so the tree?

Loaded.

The boy’s living room?

Shoe box.

I’m sure you can imagine.

But regardless, either they loved everything they got, every where they collected presents, or they are growing up and have learned not to be so vocal with their dissappointment.  Either way works for me.

Because I busted my tail making sure that they were all happy.  Because that makes me happy.

So the high lights… (in age order…)

the boy — he got an iPod.  He was so tickled and I’d love to show you his reaction, but I can’t.  Wanna know why? Because Matthew took the video and focused on the box the whole time… like you never see the boy’s face.  Just the box.  You hear a little gasp when he realized it was an iPod and not a bomb but you don’t ever see his face.  I should’ve gotten Matthew video recording lessons… there were other assorted what nots, but that was his big gift… oh then there were the wii boxers… the boys picked those out for him.  They were kinda cute.

me — well… i didn’t get shorted, that’s for sure.  The boy took Sam out shopping for clothes.  I was a little worried.  And you know what?  In addition to the clothes, I got stuff from bath and body and new earrings.  I’m taking less than half of it back.  They scored on the pants, jammies, smelly stuff, and jewelry… but the tops?  Samara is on a mission to make me not look like a mom, and I wouldn’t in the tops.. but they aren’t very flattering on me.  But I’m just tickled that the boy attempted.  My mom won’t even buy me clothes anymore.

thing 1 (matthew) — side note… i’ve started calling all the kids thing 1 through 4… it’s easier sometimes… lol… — he made out… night vision goggles, an iCoaster, monster… he was just tickled pink with that… and the night vision goggles were a huge hit!

thing 2 — such a girlie christmas for her in that there was hair and nail stuff, and jewelry of course…

thing 3 — oh there was a nerf gun bigger than him and night vision goggles so they can have a nerf gun war in the dark (and yes, the boy, i think, was dissappointed that i didn’t get him a pair!)… cars, trucks, bug stuff…. yeah… he was tickled too

thing 4 — again, a girlie christmas for her too… lip gloss, hair stuff, babies, and bendaroos… she just loves them!  But I think the best thing she got was the hot potato game.  Last night, the boys were playing the wii and she was coloring and looking through her stuff.  She pulled the game out and I reminded the boys that perhaps we should play with one of her games.  So we started playing and we had a BLAST.  No one could believe it!  Best $5 ever invested!

and then for the fam?  We got a Wii.  Yes, the boy boxed in his wii boxers.  It was a site, let me assure you.  I don’t like to box.  My little arms are going a mile a minute and my little character just stands there and then the boy’s character pummels me.  It’s not very entertaining.  I am, however, a huge fan of bowling.  I can wipe the floor with him there.

I’m off all week and Matthew is at a youth convention, Samara is at horse camp, and the little ones are with their mom… so I’m home alone all day until Thursday.  Today I gutted the kids’ rooms.  If it was broken or I couldn’t find all the pieces… or if I’ve not seem them play with it the entire time I’ve known them, it got trashed or taken to the Goodwill.  I needed to make room for all this new stuff.

And then I had to take a break and I though I would blog.  And maybe bowl a little bit.

Who knows…

What I do know is that I’ve got a lot to do this week…

and here, I was afraid that I would be bored.

Heh….

so what’s the best thing you got for Christmas?  Mine?  a new coffee pot.  And it works.  It’s the one thing that I REALLY wanted.

Until next time…

A new coffee pot? Woot!

I guess my favorite thing would be either the New Balance shoes from Jason or the zebra print robe from my mother.

(Or would it be the file folders Jason got me? They are divided into three categories – they said “Today,” “Tomorrow,” and “Never?” Wonder what he meant by that?)
