She Posted First So Now I Must “One-Up” Her

in blogging,Heather's Quirks

Um yeah.  Heather at Not a DIY Life and I had lunch last week.

As in 5 days ago.

And me?

Haven’t really mentioned it, posted the pictures, or anything else.

Because that’s the kind of friend I am.

Awesome, right?

Now.  This is not the first time that Heather and I have had lunch.  Nope.  In fact, I did a little research on this and the first time I met her?

August 26th, 2008. (This is a link.  I know that it’s not a different color, but it is really a link.  And me?  I don’t know why it’s not a different color, so maybe I better call my Tech Support — Cathy.  That’s a link, too.  And yes, I know that it doesn’t look like one.)

Wanna see?

And then?

We met again that following January.

You want to know what’s horrible?  I NEVER blogged about it.  Or posted a picture.  I mentioned it because it was right near my birthday.

OMG.  I’m a horrible bloggy buddy!!!!

Know what’s worse?

I linked to Heather’s picture in that post but it was a link to another post of mine so I had to go fishing around HER blog to find it.  (Because clearly, she is more on top of things than I am… and she has a toddler.)

So, not only am I going to theif her picture from this year, I’m going to thief her picture from last year too…

Bloggy Buddy of the year… right here.

Right freakin’ here.

But this year?  I took Thing 2 with me since she was off of school.  I don’t think I’ll be doing that again any time soon.

It’s not that she was bad, per se, it was just that she was being a 10 year old girl.  And me?  Not so much into that.

But we did snap a picture!

(and, as I mentioned, I would be stealing it from her.)

My point of this long drawn out post is really this.

Do you see how much Ladybug has grown?

Do you see how Heather and I are a little lighter?

(Just say yes.  We are. Even if you can’t tell from the picture. Thank you.)

So here’s the real problem.

Heather only comes up when her hubs has to take a test at the University in the next city over.

Well this was his last one.  He’s contemplating coming back in May to walk and get his diploma, which I think he should do.  I even volunteered to come and cheer him on and throw a big party with a bunch of people that they don’t know.

Don’t you think they should do that?

(Again, just nod your head and say, “yes, Heather, that’s a GREAT idea!”  Thank you.)

And Heather, if you come in May I promise, I’ll use the pictures that *I* take and not steal yours… and I promise, I’ll blog about it and not forget or wait a year to talk about it. :)

Until next time…

You are so funny, and that’s why we are friends!

Yes, Heather, I think it’s a GREAT idea if we come back up in May. I’ll keep working on the Hubs.

It was great to see you again and catch up! And of course, you are ALWAYS welcome to come visit me.

Reading about stuff from your point of view is always so … well, interesting :D Love that ya’ll got to meet! And I was thinking that Thing 2 is getting quite big! Though I don’t know that you’d recognize Doodle now — well, it probably doesn’t help that I don’t really post pictures on my blog :D and I don’t have anyone else to steal them from ;)

What FUN! Next time she comes up, let me know, and I’ll come down, and we can make it a threesome. I mean, er, well, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Ack.

Maybe you got the link color thing fixed already but thought I’d just mention that I could tell they were links – they are a different color for me.

Anyhow – great pictures. Looks like you gals had fun :-)
