Stole This Idea From Musings of a Housewife

So, Jo-Lynne over at Musings of a Housewife gleaned a little bit of information from Blissdom.  Ok, I’m sure she gleaned a lot more than a little bit, but this particular little bit I then gleaned from her.

Basically, you look at your stats and link to your most read posts AND your top referrers.

So let’s look at January.

And….

Since I didn’t reinstall my stats until January 25th, we’ve got a whopping 6 days of statistics, however, I need a blog post for today.

So here we go….

Top three referrers for January

  1. Musings of a Housewife
  2. Fiddledeedee
  3. Simply Amusing Designs

Top 3 Most Popular Posts

  1. Go Ahead…Call Me a Geek
  2. I’m Sorry…But I’m Wii-Tarded
  3. How Do You Describe Your Family?

Now, I think it’s interesting to note a few things…

That “How Do You Describe Your Family?” post?  The 3rd most read post for the 6 days that I tracked in January?

For the 5 of you that read regularly, please don’t think that you missed something.

You didn’t.

I wrote that in MARCH 2007.

And it continues to be one of my most read posts.  Coincidentally? One of the top search phrases for my blog has something to do with describing family.  And I have to wonder…

Are people looking to read other descriptions so that they can tell if their family is normal or not?

I’m just not understanding why someone would google that.

(If you end up on this page because you googled something about describing your family, would you kindly comment or email me and tell me why you were searching?)

So there you have it.

Since I have stats now (and I didn’t turn them off, they just weren’t working and I didn’t realize it since I was AWOL for long) we’ll do this again in March.  It will be interesting to see if that old post shows up again.

Until next time…

It’s amazing what people will find when they look up a particular thing in a search engine! I just read your “Describe your family” post and laughed so hard! You have a VERY interesting family!! It’ll be funny to see what comes up next month!

It’s amazing what you can find! Just love your ‘motto’ about hand made gifts and ‘free children’!
