The boy turns…
well, I won’t lie. The boy turns 35 today. I don’t know what the big deal is about saying his age. It’s not like he’s a girl.
But the boy turns 35 today.
We aren’t celebrating today with all the chaos that our joint clans bring us, so we’re waiting until Sunday when we can have some of his family over and all the kids. Sunday evenings seem to be the only night of the week these days that we can all sit down and eat together, and it’s something that is INSANELY important to me. I don’t ask for much, but one night a week… I think that’s reasonable.
But today is his day. And I wanted to wish him a happy birthday. I’m making what he asked me too on Sunday.. pot roast.
And even though we are celebrating on Sunday, I did ask him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday today…
He told me a cheese cake. I directed him to the cheesecake recipe website and he picked out the peanut butter jelly one.
Which cracks me up. There is no jelly in the cheesecake.
There is, however, peanut butter. And chocolate.
Lots of both.
And it took me two days to make. Because it’s not one of those that you just mix up and bake. No… you had to make the cheesecake one day. And top it the next.
But I did it.
He was amazed. Brought up something about me not being able to cook.
I had to remind him that even though it looks like this?

Doesn’t mean it tastes good.
I guess we’ll find out tonight.
So happy birthday, hun. I hope you have a wonderful day…
And as a reminder, you’ll always be older than me.
Until next time…

That does look delish!
It REALLY looks good.
Also, 35 is not old.
Older? No. Better? Yes. Least that’s how I see it. The cheesecake? Looks amazing. “The domestication of the wild Heather?” Complete. Love ya hun.
Dang girl, that looks almost as good as something the long hair would make! Kidding.
That looks amazing, I am sure it tastes that way too.
Did it taste as good as it looks?? Yum!
