blogging to keep from freaking out…totally random thoughts

So its nearing 11pm and we’re somewhere on 81 heading south towards roanoke. Its pouring down rain. I can barely see the car in front of me and the hubs is cruising right along.

I held on to the door handle tightly until the hubs said in his “I can’t believe you’re seriously feeling this way tone” – “you’re petrified aren’t you?”

I responded with yes. And then suddenly felt very silly. Because not only was I gripping that door handle with all my might, I was praying for the rain to stop and I was recounting in my head things that are still left undealt with — you know. With God. In case we die.

And then I felt even sillier. Not that I don’t trust my husband driving in a torrential downpour – because I do. But that’s just who I am. A worrier.

But he’s a joker, a kidder. And I know that he wants to laugh at me. But he won’t. Because he knows better. So, in order to make it look like I’m totally cool with the situation and to keep my mind off it – I decided to blog.

Then he thinks I just have my nose burried in my phone and I’ve chilled out.

I think we lost thing 1 again. He was in the back seat texting his friend. But I’ve not heard the phone go off for awhile and I’m pretty sure he’s snoring.

The hubs and I took the day off. He’s been working a lot, spent the last week on call and we just decided we would frolic today. Hah.

No, we need birth certificates for 3 and 4 so we can register them at their new school. It was cheaper to drive to richmond than order them online and expedite the shipping.

Then, thing 1 decided to come home from camp for the weekend before heading back on monday so we picked him up in appomattox on the way.

We were in and out of the dept of vital records in 15 minutes so we putzed around. I showed the hubs where I used to live and work and then we went to the dump (a discount furniture store). We’re in search of a kitchen island. They had one that I fell in love with…unfortunately it was triple what I had put away to spend.

“We have financing,” the salesman said. I felt like saying, “dave ramsey wouldn’t like you,” but I didn’t. We left and headed to the short pump towne center.

They have an apple store. I’ve never been to an apple store. It was so cool. No. I lie. It was freaking amazing. But I didn’t buy anything. I’m surprised the hubs didn’t take my wallet upon entering like I did to him when he went into the orvis store. (I’m not lying.)

Then we hit up a few more places before hitting the road to come home. We stopped to eat. We discussed whether or not its a sin to steal a base in baseball and then started on again.

And now the rain. According to the mile markers, we have 30 miles left to go. The hubs just asked me who I was typing to… “You’ve been typing for 10 minutes” — I finally told him I was blogging.

Do worry. I won’t blog for the next 30 miles. For one, I’m not sure I could entertain you for that long. For two – my nails have grown so long that they’ve turned in to claws and its rather difficult to type on my blackberry. They hurt. And I keep misspelling things. And missing the space bar.

And I’d love to cut them but then I keep looking at them and thinking how pretty they look. Its been a long time since I had nails like this. Like since I first started dating the hubs. But then I started gardening and remodeling…and the nails?

Not so pretty anymore. And I missed them.

But they are hindering my typing abilities both on the ‘puter and the berry so I should cut them. And probably before we move all the furniture. I’m sure breaking one way far back would suck.

And with that, I’m off. 19 more miles until I can crawl in my bed. And it looks like the rain has let up.

Prayers are answered. ;) thank you Lord. :)

Until next time…

Dear? I think you left a part of this story out. You know, the part where you almost knocked me over to get to the apple store. :p

I know it’s time to trim my nails when it hinders my typing! LOL (But I do use my nails when typing on my Palm Pixi, the keys are too small for my fat fingers!)

Ahhh! I love your randomness. *grin*
I was throwing the football with Joshua a couple days ago reminded him that I’m ‘delicate’ when he threw it at me hard (and I jumped out of the way). And he made some comment about me breaking my nails. Guess I’ve whined about that too much when we’ve played football in the past. *blush*

Just wanted to stop by and see how you’re doing. Glad to know the car ride turned out OK.

Love to you,
Karen

I also get really nervous in the car in the rain. If I’m driving I have been known to pull over until it stops. My nails are also long and get in the way when texting/typing, but I’m vain and will keep them.
